Die Schule befand sich bis zum Zweiten Weltkrieg\nan der Kochstra\u00dfe westlich der Friedrichstra\u00dfe (Berliner Friedrichstadt). Durch ihn kommt Taubert\nerstmals in Verbindung mit Arbeiten des franz. Rokoko-Malers Fran\u00e7ois Boucher\n(1703-1770) und anderen. Dabei \u00fcbt er sich in der genauen Nachahmung der\ngesehenen Werke. Desweiteren\nmacht er Bekanntschaft mit den beiden Bildhauerbr\u00fcdern Selvino. Sp\u00e4ter\nFreundschaft mit dem \u00e4lteren Bruder, Giovanni Battista (um 1744-1789), einem\nMitarbeiter Tassaerts. Durch Vermittlung Giovanni Battista Selvinos kann Taubert erste\nArbeiten verkaufen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">&nbsp; <br>\n<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\"><b>Um 1775<\/b><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">Durch Giovanni\nBattista Selvino kommt Taubert in Kontakt mit dessen Freund, den Maler Joseph Bardou (1745-1814) und kopiert unter seiner Leitung ein Jahr lang Zeichnungen in Rotstein,\nschwarzer und wei\u00dfer Kreide. Maler Blaise-Nicolas Le Sueur um einen Raum in der Akademie, wo er und\nandere Sch\u00fcler nach lebenden Modellen zeichnen k\u00f6nnten. Weitere Sch\u00fcler in der\nAktklasse waren Bach, Schadow, Burnat, Bolt, Henne und\nAbrahamson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">Da der Etat der\nAkademie gering war und so nur notd\u00fcrftig Zeichenunterricht gegeben werden\nkonnte, dachte Taubert dar\u00fcber nach, an der 1764 gegr\u00fcndeten Kunstakademie in\nDresden zu studieren und eine Kunstreise nach Rom zu unternehmen. Aufgrund dieses\nVorhabens schreibt Taubert, der selbst nicht \u00fcber die dazu n\u00f6tigen finanziellen Mittel verf\u00fcgt,\nam 5. Mai 1780 an Friedrich II. und bittet um Genehmigung und Unterst\u00fctzung einer Kunstreise nach Italien. Am 8. Mai erh\u00e4lt\nTaubert Antwort des K\u00f6nigs, der ihn ermutigen will, \u201eseine Bem\u00fchungen zu\nverst\u00e4rken, diese Vollkommenheit in Berlin zu erwerben, bevor er an seine Reise\nnach Italien denkt\u201c, da er die Malerei\nTauberts als noch zu unvollkommen ansieht und daher Tauberts Bitte nicht\nnachkommt. Er macht die Bekanntschaft des Radierers und Galerieinspektors Johann Anton Riedel (1736-1816).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">In Dresden lernt Taubert den schweizerischen Maler und Akademielehrer&nbsp; Anton Graff&nbsp; (1736-1813) kennen, sowie dessen Landsmann, den Landschaftszeichner\nAdrian Zingg (1734-1816), der ebenfalls Lehrer an der Dresdner Akademie\nist. Desweiteren\ntrifft Taubert erneut auf den Maler und Zeichner Jacob Crescens Seydelmann\n(1750-1829), der zu dieser Zeit Mitarbeiter am Dresdner Galeriewerk ist. Von\nSeydelmann lernt Taubert eine bestimmte Art der Sepiazeichnung, die statt der\nFeder den Pinsel verwendet und eine besondere Tusche benutzt um in den braunen\nTonabstufungen der Sepia farbige wie plastische Werte wiederzugeben.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">Taubert kopiert\nin Dresden die \"Liegende Venus mit dem Lautenspieler\" von Tizian sowie den \"Christuskopf\"\nvon Annibale Carracci, die \"Heilige Magdalena\" von Batoni, den \"Amor\" von Mengs, einen\nMadonnenkopf von Carlo Dolci und ein Correggio zugeschriebenes Bild der Heiligen Magdalena.<\/p><br>\n<br>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\"><b>1783<\/b><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">Im Mai verl\u00e4sst\nTaubert Dresden um nach Karlsbad zu reisen, wo er auch Besch\u00e4ftigung findet.\nDort macht er Bekanntschaft mit dem Grafen Alois Friedrich&nbsp; von Br\u00fchl (1739-1793),\nGouverneur von Warschau, von dem Taubert ein Portrait in Pastell anfertigt. Auf\nsein Anraten reist Taubert von Ende Juli bis Ende Oktober nach Prag, wo mehrere\nPortraits entstehen.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">Ende Oktober\nkommt Taubert nach Wien und besucht die dortige Akademie, au\u00dferdem entstehen\nmehrere Kopien der Wiener Bildergalerie (vornehmlich nach Tizian und Furini).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">N\u00e4here\nBekanntschaft entsteht mit dem Historienmaler Heinrich F\u00fcger (1751-1818), dem\nMaler und Stecher Jakob Matthias Schutzer (1733-1811) sowie dem Bildhauer\nAnton Zauner (1746-1822) und dem Landschaftsmaler Joseph Ross (1726-1805),\ndie zur damaligen k\u00fcnstlerischen Elite Wiens geh\u00f6rten. Desweiteren kommt\nTaubert durch diese in Kontakt mit dem Lyriker Alois Blumauer (1755-1830)\nsowie mit Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">&nbsp; <br>\n<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\"><b>1784<\/b><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">Im Oktober kehrt Taubert zur\u00fcck nach Berlin, da er durch einen Brief seiner Mutter erf\u00e4hrt, dass\nsein Vater im Sterben liegt. Aus diesem Grund reist Taubert nicht wie geplant\nweiter nach Rom, obwohl er schon Vorbereitungen f\u00fcr eine Fahrt nach Triest\ngetroffen hatte. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">Kurz nach\nTauberts Ankunft in Berlin verstirbt sein Vater. Von da an sorgt Taubert f\u00fcr seine\nMutter. In Berlin\narbeitet er weiter als Portraitmaler.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\"><b>1785<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">Im Oktober reist\nTaubert nach Warschau und besucht dort den Grafen von Br\u00fchl. Durch ihn bahnte sich die f\u00fcr Taubert bedeutende Bekanntschaft\nmit K\u00f6nig Stanislaus August Poniatowski von Polen (1732-1798, von 1764 bis\n1795 K\u00f6nig von Polen und Gro\u00dff\u00fcrst von Litauen) an. In Warschau trifft Taubert seinen Bekannten Heinrich Ludwig von Buchholz, einen preu\u00dfischen\nStaatsbeamten, den Taubert auch sp\u00e4ter in Pastell portraitiert. In Warschau entstehen Portraits in Pastell, Miniaturen und Silberstiftzeichnungen. Mai 1791,\nals Stich von J. F. Bolt erhalten ( abgebildet in: Brauer 1977, Seite 448, Abb. 1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">Au\u00dferdem fertigt\nTaubert eine Apotheose des K\u00f6nig Stanislaus August an, worauf ein Medaillonportr\u00e4t\ndes K\u00f6nigs von einem Genius in den Tempel der Unsterblichkeit getragen wird. Taubert reist\nerneut nach Berlin, doch zuvor erteilte der K\u00f6nig ihm den Auftrag, diese Zeichnung,\ndie dem K\u00f6nig sehr gefiel, mit nach Berlin zu nehmen um sie dort in Kupfer stechen\nzu lassen. Im August trifft\nTaubert in Berlin ein, wo er den Zeichner und Kupferstecher Johann Friedrich\nBolt (1769-1836) mit der Anfertigung einer Kupferplatte beauftragt. Taubert schickt\neine Sepiazeichnung \u201eAllegorie auf S. Majest\u00e4t\u201c und einige Abdr\u00fccke von der\nBolt'schen Platte nach Warschau. Kurz darauf wird Taubert vom polnischen\nMonarchen f\u00fcr jene Arbeit mit der Verdienstmedaille belohnt. Taubert erh\u00e4lt&nbsp; zudem den Titel des k\u00f6niglichen Hofrats. Er beginnt in\nBerlin mit Emaillearbeiten, worunter sich auch einige Portraits befinden und\nsucht w\u00e4hrend seines Aufenthalts vergebens eine&nbsp; Anstellung an der Akademie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">&nbsp; <br>\n<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\"><b>1793<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">Im Fr\u00fchjahr\nkehrt Taubert wieder nach Warschau zur\u00fcck und trifft auf eine ver\u00e4nderte Stadt,\nda die Polnische Verfassung im Zuge der unter russischem Einfluss gebildeten\nAdelsreaktion wieder aufgehoben wurde. Taubert\n\u00fcberreicht die Berliner Kupferplatte sowie die dazugeh\u00f6rige Zeichnung dem K\u00f6nig. Er fertigt\nzwei Miniaturen des russischen Generals Graf&nbsp; Igelstr\u00f6hm (1737-1823) an. Es\nentstehen in der Folge mehrere Portraits von Offizieren des Generalstabes.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\"><b>Ab 1794<\/b><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">Am 18. Juli\nverl\u00e4sst er Warschau aufgrund des Sturzes Stanislaus Augustus und der sozialen\nUnruhen. Ende Juli trifft Taubert \u00fcber Thorun in Danzig ein, wo er von einem\nWarschauer Freund aufgenommen wird. Weyrauch\n(1746-1817) verheiratet ist, Unterkunft findet. Dort verliebt sich Taubert in\nUlrike Amalia \u00d6sterlein, die er sp\u00e4ter heiratet. Ende April\nbricht Taubert ebenfalls nach St. Petersburg auf und wird vom Staatsrat von\nHahn und dessen Familie aufgenommen. In St. Petersburg arbeitet Taubert\nweiterhin als Portraitmaler und trifft erneut den polnischen K\u00f6nig..<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">Taubert versucht zudem\naus St. Petersburg den preu\u00dfischen K\u00f6nig durch Zusendung eines Bildes f\u00fcr\nsich zu interessieren.Im Mai erreicht\nTaubert die Mitteilung, dass Minister Heinitz (1725 -1802) Taubert auf Anraten des Geheimfinanzrats Tobias Faudel\neine Anstellung bei der Berliner Akademie mit 250 Thalern j\u00e4hrlich anbietet.\n(Zu dieser Anstellung kam es jedoch nie).Taubert nimmt\ndas Angebot aus Berlin an und reist am 26. September aus St. Petersburg ab und\nerreicht drei Tage sp\u00e4ter Riga. Dort trifft er Ulrike Amalia \u00d6sterlein wieder\nund heiratet sie am 6. Oktober in Riga. Mit seiner Frau\nreist Taubert Ende Oktober von Riga nach Berlin, wo sie am 6. November\neintreffen. Dort wohnen sie im \u201aAnsbachschen Palais\u2019 an der Wilhelmstra\u00dfe\nwo Tauberts Schwager Tobias Faudel lebt. Dieser hatte wohl durch seine Funktion\nals Legationsrat des Markgrafen von Ansbach-Bayreuth Anwartschaft auf eine\nWohnung in dessen fr\u00fcherem Palais erworben.
